On Thursday at approximately 5:17 pm deputies in Ontario County — along with Hopewell Fire Department and Canandaigua Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of County Road 46 and Freshour Road for the report of a crash with injuries.
The accident involved a pickup truck and Jeep. It happened in the Town of Hopewell.
Deputies say Sheryl H. Berger, 72, of Bloomfield and her passenger — a minor — were traveling east on County Road 46 when she allegedly made a U-turn upon reaching the intersection with Freshour Road.
The second vehicle, operated by John J> Vanniel, 52, of Seneca Falls was also eastbound and swerved into the other lane to avoid the collision with the Jeep behind Berger.
The vehicles struck in the intersection. Berger was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital for treatment after the accident. Crews worked to clean up the scene and no other injuries were reported.
Berger was also issued traffic tickets.
