Man on parole charged in drug, violation stop

On Wednesday around 1:45 pm the Geneva Police Department’s Detective Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit and marked patrol cars executed a coordinated traffic stop in the area of Hamilton and Pulteney Streets alongside the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

New York State Parolee Jason M. Singleton was taken into custody without incident and arrested as a parole absconder. At the time of his arrest he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

The cocaine was packaged for sale.

The 35-year-old Singleton was on parole from a 1998 crime in Rochester where he shot at officers after committing a robbery. He was subsequently shot by officers in that incident before being taken into custody.

Singleton was charged with parole absconder and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
