Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce reported the following activity during the month of January. Over 1,300 calls for service were received by the department, which included a number of new drug cases.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MONTH:
January 11th 2017: The Sheriff’s Office received a certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for the Department’s work with the Hillside Children’s Center in Varick.
January 19th, 2017: The Narco Unit, working with the Waterloo Police Department, arrested a man for selling and possessing heroin in Waterloo.
January 24th, 2017: The Sheriff’s Office hosted Aquatic Death Investigation training. Over 60 officers from all over New York State attended.
January 24th 2017: Road Patrol responded to a suicidal subject with a loaded gun. A young child was present at the scene. A Uniform Deputy Sheriff talked the subject into surrendering and took him into custody without incident
January 2017: The Narco Unit assisted Wayne County with an investigation and search warrant involving a Day Care selling Heroin in the Town of Arcadia. Two persons were arrested on 9 charges.
