Dove Block, others in Geneva make list for possible DRI funding

The Dove Block restoration effort was among the big winners of funding in the city’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative effort, as was a mixed-use project that would fill a long-vacant spot on North Exchange Street.

The 17 recipients — both public and private projects — were announced Tuesday evening at the Ramada Inn Lakefront. Thirty projects were under consideration for funding, said Kimberly Baptiste, project director with Bergmann Associates, the consultant hired by the city to coordinate the effort to identify city projects eligible for the DRI money.
