Cayuga County’s lodging industry experiences tremendous growth over last decade

You don't need to look any further than revenue from Cayuga County's "bed tax" — the room occupancy tax — over the last decade for the best indicator of how the lodging industry is performing.

Figures provided by the Cayuga County treasurer's office show the county collected $246,796.54 in bed tax revenue in 2007. Last year, the total revenue was $559,264.92 — a 126-percent increase over a 10-year period.
