The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 1:20 pm they were called to a motor vehicle accident on County Road 7 in Manchester.
Deputies say that Lucille Powell, 62, of Port Gibson was traveling north on County Road 7 — when she began turning into her driveway. At that time, another vehicle — which was being operated by Clifford R. Brown, 25, of Newark — struck her vehicle from behind.
Brown was transported to Newark Hospital by Port Gibson ambulance and was reportedly suffering from heart issues, which resulted in him passing out, or falling asleep just before impact with the second vehicle.
Powell was not injured, and no tickets were issued. Port Gibson Fire Department assisted at the scene.
