Deputies in Seneca County arrested a Romulus man for driving while intoxicated after a personal injury motor vehicle accident on January 13th.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce reports that Donald P. Heitmann, 53, of Romulus was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated. The arrest stems from an accident that occurred at the intersection of Macdougall Road and State Route 336.
The investigation determined that Heitmann was southbound in his 2006 Chevy Silverado when he struck a 2015 Nissan sedan that was stopped at the intersection.
Alene Clark, 39, of Seneca Falls was the operator of the Nissan. Clark was extricated from the vehicle by Varick Fire Department and was flown by Life Net to Upstate Medical Center. She was treated and released for minor injuries.
Both vehicle sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
Heitmann was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, and following too closely. He will answer the charges in Fayette Town Court at 7 pm on February 1st.
Additional charges are possible, according to deputies.
