The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that a Newark woman was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after an incident that occurred on Monday.
Deputies say that Michelle, L. Brown, 44, of Newark was charged with two counts of petit larceny and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The arrest stems from an incident at a Tyre business where Brown allegedly stole property that did not belong to her. The property was recovered and returned to the victims, and during the investigation deputies found she was in possession of hydrocodone.
She was arraigned in Tyre Town Court and remanded to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 secured bond.
