The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says that two seniors were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital after an accident on County Road 6 in Geneva around 11:45 am on Tuesday.
Deputies say that the accident happened on County Road 6 around 11:45 when Robert T. Ford, 80, of Rock Stream was traveling north and lost control of his vehicle due to unsafe speed and slippery road conditions.
His vehicle slid off the east side of the road, struck a tree, spun around and then struck another tree, according to deputies on the scene.
Ford complained of chest and head pain and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Finger Lakes Ambulance. His wife, who was the passenger in his vehicle was transported to Strong, as well by Penn Yan Ambulance. She complained of chest pain, according to deputies.
Airbags deployed and both parties had seat belts on during the accident. Ford was issued a ticket for speed not reasonable due to road conditions, which will be answered in Geneva Town Court.
