The Auburn-area community gathered again for the 42nd year Sunday to celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. More than 150 people came together at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Auburn to reflect on King’s pursuits as a leader in the Civil Rights Movement and a preacher on the eve of his namesake holiday.
Attendees also included municipal leaders from Auburn and Cayuga County, as well as a representative from U.S. Rep. John Katko’s office. Together, the congregation raised around $1,200 in donations to the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship program for high school seniors.
