The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that one person was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital after a one car accident at the intersection of County Road 30 and Whalen Road in East Bloomfield, which happened on Wednesday around 7:57 pm.
Deputies say Hannah Pettengill, 25, of Bloomfield was operating her vehicle on County Road 30 and swerved to miss a vehicle that was turning onto Whalen Road. Her vehicle then left the roadway – striking a utility pole before coming to rest. Deputies say that her head struck the steering wheel and broke her nose.
She was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment by East Bloomfield Ambulance. The East Bloomfield Fire Department was also on scene assisting with the crash. Pettengill was wearing her seatbelt during the accident and was not issued any traffic tickets.
County Road 30 was shut down for roughly one hour after the accident.
