Auburn YMCA members and administrators are concerned that plans to put a regional tourism center in a parking lot across from the gym could impact the fitness center’s membership.
The lot, at 25 South St., is the proposed site for a 10,000- to 15,000-square-foot tourist hub projected for installation by 2018. Auburn officials are working with the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation on what has been described as a facility that will showcase central New York offerings and history.
