Wayne County District Attorney Rick Healy has chosen one of his top assistants to be his successor. Healy said this week that he has named Chris Bokelman to be acting district attorney. Healy will be sworn in Friday as a county judge after running unopposed in November.
He will succeed Judge Dennis Kehoe, who is retiring after 21 years on the bench due to reaching the state’s mandatory retirement age of 70. Healy has been the county’s top prosecutor since 1991.
