New rules for Seneca County board would mean fewer committees

The number of standing committees of the Seneca County Board of Supervisors would be reduced from 13 to five under new rules of order presented to the board Tuesday by County Manager John Sheppard. “I put these rules of order together based on feedback from board members and my own experience in municipal government in Ontario County,” Sheppard said.

Ontario County is considering a reduction in its committees from 10 to six. “I don’t expect them all to be adopted. They are a way to start discussion on changes. Several board members said they are concerned about the length of committee meetings,” Sheppard said.
