Rochester International closed after ‘suspicious package’ found

The Greater Rochester International Airport has temporarily closed Thursday afternoon due to an investigation into a “suspicious condition”. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. More updates as they become available. Passengers arriving to ROC should use the RED or White Economy Shuttle Lot off Buell Road.

All roadways at the Greater Rochester International Airport are temporarily closed. The Monroe County Sheriffs Office is investigating a suspicious condition.

Inbound arriving passengers are being held in the gate area until the Monroe County Sheriffs Office has completed their investigation.

Outbound departing passengers should stage in the Red and White Parking Lots until the roadways are reopened as they will not be allowed to enter airport property until the investigation is complete. Passengers should check with their airline to see if their flight has been delayed. If their flight has departed, passengers should contact their airline for re-booking.

The ROC Airport terminal roadways have reopened. Passengers may come to the terminal and check with their airlines on the status of flights.
