Elmcrest apartment residents to hear about renovation plan

With ample Christmas cookies fueling them, the Geneva Housing Authority Board of Commissioners got updates on a number of projects from Executive Director Andy Tyman last week.

Chief among them, the renovation of the Elmcrest high-rise apartments on Lewis Street. The project, which could cost some $10 million to renovate, is months from starting, Tyman emphasized at the agency’s meeting Tuesday afternoon, pointing to a number of funding approvals needed, as well as asbestos abatement, which has been called “significant.”
