Canandaigua man accused of threatening to kill female during assault

The Canandaigua Police Department announced the arrest of a 25-year-old Canandaigua man following an investigation into an incident where he allegedly threatened to kill a female, while physically assaulting her.

Officers arrested Daniel R. Sims, 25, of Canandaigua — charging him with third-degree attempted assault, third-degree menacing, and second-degree harassment.

Sims is accused of punching a female in the face multiple times, pushing her to the ground and kicking her in the ribs while verbally threatening to kill her.

The incident and arrest took place at a residence on Saltonstall Street in Canandaigua, according to police.
