Auburn determining how fire station move could impact Save-A-Lot, other businesses

Years before it was seen as a possible site for the relocation of Auburn’s fire and police stations, the Seminary Street strip mall was empty.

Syracuse development firm Washington St. Partners negotiated a 15-year payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement in 2011 with the Auburn Industrial Development Authority to transform the vacant shopping center into what is now called Seminary Commons with a Save-A-Lot and two small businesses.
