Deputies: Interlaken man intimidated victim with a shotgun during dispute

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce reports that on Monday at approximately 5 pm deputies arrested an Interlaken man following a domestic incident that took place in Ovid.

Deputies arrested Paul J. McGuane Jr., 58, of Interlaken at his residence. He was subsequently charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.

The arrest stems from the report of a family dispute that was in progress at the residence, which involved a shotgun being used to intimidate a victim.

When deputies arrived, a female was located at the back of the home and was removed from the home through a bathroom window. McGuane was taken into custody without further incident outside of the home.

He was arraigned in Fayette Court and committed to the Seneca County Jail in lieu of $250 cash bail or $500 secured bond.

The charges will be answered in Ovid Court at a later date.
