A camper and boat on West Main Street in Waterloo suffered major damage after a fire was discovered Monday morning.
The Waterloo Police Department reports that around 7:45 am the Waterloo Fire Department responded to a residence located at 315 West Main Street in Waterloo for a camper that had caught fire in the driveway of a residence.
Officers say it was the residence of Eric D. Goodenow. The fire was extinguished without incident, according to police. However, the camper suffered major fire damage, while an adjacent boat, which was owned by a neighbor suffered heat damage.
The fire was ruled accidental and investigators determined that it started in the kitchen area of the camper. No one was injured in the fire and insurance is expected to cover the damage.
