Driver stopped for doing 67 mph in 30 mph zone leads to drug arrest

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 19th at approximately 1:50 pm deputies arrested a passenger, later identified as Yamilex Almonte, 21, of the Bronx, for unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop.

Deputies say that the vehicle was observed traveling 67 mph on Ovid Street, in Seneca Falls, which is a 30 mph zone. Once the vehicle was stopped — deputies located a quantity of marijuana on Almonte, which resulted in the arrest.

He was issued an appearance ticket, and the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Jahleel Cordero, 27, of the Bronx was issued a traffic ticket for speed in zone.
