Deputies in Ontario County arrested Derek Melenbacher, 23, of Waterloo for falsifying business records, as well as petit larceny following an investigation into an incident that took place at Walmart in Geneva.
He’s accused of entering the store and selecting merchandise from within the store and completing a no receipt return in exchange for a gift card in the amount of $352.60.
He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
