A 23-year-old Penn Yan man was arrested after police in Yates County say he injected heroin into another person.
The Penn Yan Police Department reports that Nicholas R. Irwin, 23, of Penn Yan was arrested on a superior court warrant for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, third-degree possession of a controlled substance and criminal injection of a narcotic drug.
The charges stem from an incident where Irwin is accused of selling and possessing heroin, as well as injecting heroin into another person.
Irwin was taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop on East Elm Street. He is being held at the Yates County Jail, pending arraignment.
