Hobart and William Smith Colleges and the co-working space Port 100 have launched a business plan competition targeting the city’s black and Hispanic communities.
HWS and Port 100 are providing one firm in the African-American and/or Latino communities with one year of access to Port 100 and all the support programs at no cost. The Castle Street location — it’s supported by the city, which is renting the space — provides entrepreneurs with low-cost work space downtown with all the amenities a businessperson would expect, including WiFi, a copier, printer and scanner, and the chance to work in an energetic environment.
