Department of Interior’s BIA sides with Halftown

Embattled Cayuga Indian Nation official Clint Halftown has survived the latest challenge to his leadership of the tribe.

In a ruling issued Thursday, the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Indian Affairs Eastern Regional Office in Nashville, Tenn., formally recognized the Halftown-led Cayuga Nation Council as the governing body of the Seneca Falls-based tribe.
