Deputies: Three seriously injured in Middlesex crash; weather, speed could have been factors

A crash on State Route 245 in Middlesex Sunday morning resulted in three people being transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. While the crash remains under investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office — they report that weather and road conditions could have been a factor.

Early portions of the investigation revealed that the operator of a sedan crossed the center line traveling into the path of a northbound vehicle. The southbound vehicle that crossed the center line was being operated by 32-year-old Megan Conley. Deputies say the northbound vehicle was being operated by 63-year-old John Palladino.

The two vehicles struck head on and both Pallandino and his passenger had to be extricated from the wreckage by local fire departments.

Additional information will be released after the investigation is completed, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

A number of agencies responded to the crash. Those responding included: The Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Middlesex Fire Department, Middlesex Ambulance, Rushville Fire Department, Canandaigua ALS, Naples Fire Department, Naples Ambulance, and Medic 55.
