Deputies with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office report that on December 3rd at 3:11 am they responded to East Cortland Road in Groton for the report of a one car motor vehicle accident.
When deputies arrived they located a white vehicle off the road. The driver was later identified as Kristy E. Matthews, 27, of Newark Valley. She was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently charged with two counts of drivnig while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and failure to use designated lane.
She was released to a sober third-party and will appear in Groton Court at a later date.
