Over 1,000 customers are without power in Cayuga County, as intense lake effect snow and heavy winds batter the entire region.
NYSEG reports that 1,058 customers are without power in Cayuga County as of 4:45 pm. The rest of the region has a few hundred outages in all.
The communities hit hardest by the outages include the Town and Village of Moravia, as well as Sempronius, and Summerhill.
Nearly 90 percent of customers served in Sempronius are without power right now, according to NYSEG officials.
Crews are currently on scene repairing lines on Gravel Road in Seneca Falls to restore power to those customers. Reports on the ground indicate that a tree fell, taking out a series of power lines late in the afternoon on Thursday.
