Public transportation is expected to arrive in Yates County next year.
The Yates County Legislature backed another measure Monday that paves the way for public transportation to become reality. The board unanimously approved a resolution authorizing Chairman Dr. Tim Dennis to sign a contract with Yates Transit Services. Arc of Yates has formed the company as a legal entity to provide countywide public transportation.
