A Penn Yan man was arrested on December 5th after police say he stole several checks and forged them to buy drugs.
Officers say that Eric M. Fritz, 36, of Penn Yan was arrested at Penn Yan Village Court after a five week investigation by Penn Yan Police.
The investigation revealed that Fritz stole several checks from an individual and then forged said checks fro the purpose of purchasing drugs. Fritz was in Penn Yan Village Court on other charges and was subsequently charged with two counts of second-degree forgery — Class D felonies, as well as two counts of second-degree criminal possession of forged instrument — Class D felonies.
He was arraigned in Penn Yan Court and will answer the charges on February 6th.
