Four City Council members who previously supported a plan to sell 7 acres of undeveloped city-owned land adjacent to Seneca Lake Park to a developer who planned to put housing on the site had a change of heart Wednesday evening. A revised resolution to sell the parcel in the town of Waterloo to Bunnell Associates, owned by Geneva’s Dave Bunnell, was defeated by a 7-2 vote.
The vote was back before Council after a resolution passed at the Nov. 2 meeting that approved the land sale was determined to be inadequately crafted by the city’s attorneys. That November resolution passed by a 6-3 vote, enough to provide the “super majority” necessary for selling city property.
