The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 2nd a pair of residents were arrested after independent investigations into welfare fraud.
Deputies in Seneca County say that Susan L. Hurcomb, 56, of Willard was arrested on first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, fourth-degree welfare fraud, fourth-degree grand larceny, and misuse of food stamps — all Class E felonies.
Hurcomb allegedly falsified paperwork and failed to disclose household income while receiving financial benefits from Seneca County.
Deputies also arrested Julie A. Rotondo, 51, of Seneca Falls on the charge of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing — a Class E felony. Rotondo allegedly falsified paperwork in an attempt to receive benefits from Seneca County to which she was not entitled.
Both were released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges in Waterloo Village Court on January 4th, 2017.
