Red Creek man fled deputies after incident in Wayne Co.

On December 3rd a Red Creek man was arrested on multiple charges after an incident involving Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Deputies say that Scott J. Martin Jr., 24, of Red Creek was arrested and charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer, second-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to keep right, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Sheriff Barry Virts says that the incident started out as a speeding traffic stop on Wayne Center Road and Martin failed to yield to traffic. He then attempted to flee police before he was stopped shortly thereafter.

Martin was arraigned in Rose Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 secured bond.
