Three years after losing a re-election bid, H. Taylor Fitch is back on the Yates County Legislature. At a special Legislature meeting Wednesday afternoon, Fitch — the former board chairman — was appointed to fill a vacancy in District I, which includes the towns of Italy, Middlesex and Jerusalem. Legislator Gary Montgomery resigned from the position in October due to health reasons. Montgomery died Nov. 2.
