For years, property owners in this Seneca County town paid the county’s highest tax rates. A certain $440 million project just north of the Thruway has made sure that will no longer be the case.
The 2017 budget the Town Board approved unanimously Thursday night calls for a combined general and highway fund tax rate of $4.91 per $1,000 of assessed value. That’s a drop of nearly 50 percent from the 2016 figure of $9.84.
