There used to be a time when a visit to a hospital emergency room equated to a long ordeal — most of it spent in the waiting room.
While that may continue be the case at some facilities, it’s not the norm for a couple of local institutions. Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan and the Brenda & Dave Rickey Foundation emergency department at Geneva General Hospital rank at the top of a list for shortest ER wait times in upstate New York hospitals.
