One airlifted, two hospitalized after car strikes pedestrians in Penn Yan

One man was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after two pedestrians were struck by a motorist in Penn Yan on Monday.

Penn Yan Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Monday at Liberty Street in front of Aldi’s.

When officers arrived on location they found two pedestrians on the sidewalk in the entrance of the store. The investigation revealed that the driver of a vehicle, operated by James Brown, was headed south on Liberty Street when pedestrians Larry Enos and Angelia Clark crossed Liberty Street in front of Brown Street.

Penn Yan Fire closed the southbound lane of Liberty Street while Penn Yan Ambulance tended to the injured pedestrians.

Enos was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital and was treated and released. Clark was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital for head and back injuries.
