Seneca Co. Supervisors take serious look at ‘zombie properties’

Zombie houses beware. In conjunction with the recently formed Finger Lakes Regional Land Bank, the Seneca County Board of Supervisors plans to begin a campaign to deal with abandoned and unsafe properties.

At its meeting Wednesday, the board approved the Land Bank’s application for money from a $20 million state pot. The money was obtained from a bank settlement related to the mortgage-foreclosure crisis of 2007-2008.
