The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that one person has died after an accident in the Town of Italy.
The accident happened around 5:30 am on Sunday just north of Flint Hill Road on State Route 245. Witnesses say that the vehicle went off the road, hit a tree, and then burst into flames, according to WHEC in Rochester. The operator of the vehicle was said to be found dead at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office in Yates County. Details will be provided as they are released.
