Deputies in Ontario County say that Brett J. Lapides, 37, of Geneva was arrested after he was located following a brief investigation into a missing person.
He was found to be impaired by drugs and was arrested after his vehicle was found in a ditch on State Route 14 near Armstrong Road. HE was transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office where he consented to a drug recognition expert evaluation. Lapides had a prior conviction for driving while ability impaired by drugs, which made his most-recent offense a felony.
The incident, which happened on Saturday around 4:33 am revealed that he had been driving with a suspended license. In all, deputies say that Lapides license had been suspended five times prior, which resulted in him being charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree – a felony.
He was arraigned in Seneca Town Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.
