The DEC met with families in Geneva Tuesday night who recently learned the soil around their homes could be contaminated with lead and arsenic. People with young children are especially concerned to learn about the potentially toxic soil right in their own yards. The NYS DEC tested dozens of homes surrounding the old Geneva Foundry site and found harmful chemicals such as lead and arsenic.
