The 11-year-old girl who was stranded in the middle of Seneca Lake last month met her rescuers for the first time since that day on Friday.
The girl named Ella was treading water on Seneca Lake for 45 minutes after her uncle’s boat drifted away. She had been swimming with her cousin when conditions got rough. Deputies said about the incident afterward that her uncle, Gary Gladis Jr. jumped into the rough waters to save the two, but drowned in the process.
