Traffic stop leads to DWI charge for Newark man; also found to be in possession of cocaine

A Newark man was charged with driving while intoxicated and was also found to be in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop on State Route 96 in the Town of Farmington, according to police.

Deputies in Ontario County say that Drew A. Dano, 35, of Newark was charged with driving while intoxicated after receiving a complaint of a sick or intoxicated driver leaving the Finger Lakes Gaming Casino. It is alleged that Dano failed a standardized field sobriety test and later tested positive for a white rock substance, which was later identified as cocaine.

He was transported to the Ontario County Jail and was released on appearance tickets. He will answer the charges at a later date.
