Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould reports that investigators are seeking a third suspect who was involved in an armed robbery, which occurred in the Town of Scipio.

Gould says that on August 27, members of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a farm in the Town of Scipio for the report of an armed robbery.

The residents of the farm said that two men entered their home, stole property, demanded money, and then fled the scene immediately after.

On September 1, another robbery, which was similar in nature to the first that occurred on August 27 occurred in the Town of Fleming. The suspects were allegedly armed in both incidents.

Later that day, two arrests were made in connection with the two armed robberies. Devin Meacham-Wheeler, 20, of Conquest and Christopher Johnson, 20, of Owasco were arrested and charged with burglary in the second degree and robbery in the second degree. Both charges are felonies.

The pair was arraigned in Fleming Town Court and committed to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash, or $20,000 secured bond.

Investigators say that these incidents are still being looked at, and a third suspect is currently being sought. The third suspect is described as being a white male, who may drive a four-door black vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact (315) 253-1610 with those leads.
