Farmington woman charged with DWAI after striking mailboxes, road signs, tree before flipping car

A Farmington woman was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after a one car crash was reported in the Town of Canandaigua on Monday around 6:20 am.

Deputies in Ontario County say that Alysha E. Evancho, 24, of Farmington was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs after a one car crash on Parrish Street Extension in the Town of Canandaigua.

Evancho was allegedly operating a vehicle eat on Parrish Street Extension when she left the south shoulder of the roadway — striking two separate mailboxes, roadsigns and finally — striking a tree causing the vehicle to overturn. The vehicle landed on the passenger side of the car — but Evancho was able to remove herself from wreckage.

Evancho was transported to Thompson Hospital for treatment by Canandaigua Ambulance. Deputies say that Evancho appeared to only sustain minor injuries in the crash and complained of neck and back pain. After an investigation — she was taken into custody for driving while ability impaired by drugs. She was issued appearance tickets and will answer the charges in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.

Cheshire Fire Department responded and assisted at the scene.
