Farmington man arrested for possessing firearm after domestic incident

A Farmington man was arrested on Saturday after having a .22 caliber firearm in his possession following an investigation into a domestic incident.

The incident allegedly took place at John D. Kirby’s residence in Farmington, where the 45-year-old was arrested on the charges of criminal contempt in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

After an investigation into the domestic violence incident, deputies located the .22 caliber rifle inside of a bedroom, which was a violation of his current order of protection.

He will answer the charges at a later date.
