The City Manager, Ted Andrzejewski, in his capacity as Director of Public Safety has named Sergeant Stephen Hedworth as the next Police Chief of the Canandaigua Police Department. Sergeant Hedworth has been a dedicated officer within the City of Canandaigua Police Department for 16 years, serving as a Sergeant for the past 8 years. Hedworth started with the Department as a Patrolman in February 2000 and was promoted to Sergeant in December 2007. Sergeant Hedworth will serve as the Acting Police Chief until the City Council approves the City Manager’s appointment at its August 4, 2016 meeting.
