On Monday at 8:30 am the Ontario County Humane Society charged a Geneva resident with failing to adequately take care of her 1-year-old dog. The charges came after the Humane Society in Ontario County received a report of a dog, locked up in a small storage shed on County Road 6.Upon investigation, the Humane Society says that a pit-bull was discovered, which was named Princess. The dog was found to be living in inadequate shelter. The small shed was locked, inadequately ventilated, covered, and left the dog in complete darkness. There was no food or water provided for the dog in this shelter, which was approximately 4-feet by 6-feet in size. The owner of the property Precious Nicole Arzuaga, 30, was charged with failure to provide sustenance to a confined animal and cruelty to an animal — both misdemeanors. The dog was seized by the Humane Society and remains in their care currently. Arzuaga will appear in Geneva Town Court at a later date to answer the charges. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
