A Farmington fireman was injured while fighting a fire on Monday, which investigators believe was started due to a disposed cigarette that was not completely out before being discarded.On Monday at approximately 12:17 am deputies responded to a residential fire at 98 Carriage Court in the Town of Farmington. The Farmington Fire Department also responded to the scene, which was extinguished with only one incident. While fireman worked to put out the blaze, one firefighter suffered a minor left leg injury. The victim was not named, but deputies in Ontario County report that he was transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital for treatment. His condition was not available. The investigation into the fire was not completed as of Tuesday morning. However, investigators believe that the fire was caused by a disposed cigarette, which was inside a pile of wood debris in the backyard of the residence.
