On Sunday at 1:56 am the Penn Yan Village Police arrested Nathan A. Haines, age 26 of Penn Yan, for failure to stop at a stop sign, common law DWI, and DWI with .08% or greater.Officers made a routine traffic stop after observing Haines fail to stop at a stop sign. During the stop, an odor of alcohol was detected coming from his person. Haines was given several field sobriety tests and was found to be intoxicated. Haines did submit to a breathalyzer, which showed a .15% BAC.Haines is scheduled to appear in Village Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
